ENDORSEMENTS FOR ROSE GUIDE TO THE TEMPLE:

It is a real pleasure for me to describe my joy and deep appreciation for The Rose Guide to the Temple by Dr. Randall Price. Lay people and scholars alike will find that the narrative script, the graphics, and the pictures are most scintillating and beautifully carried out throughout the entire book. I have not seen anything that compares to this work of academic responsible research and superb aesthetic taste. Not only does this text cover all periods of history in which the temple was part of those times, but it carefully and irenically explores the question of a future temple in Jerusalem with a fairness to all sides in the debate.
Walter C. Kaiser, Jr., President Emeritus, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
In Randall Price's Rose Guide to the Temple, the Bible student is introduced to the fascinating subject of the history of the temple both in Judaism and in its future expectation. Rarely is one book an accurate, beneficial and aesthetically beautiful yet short volume. If you are reading about the temple and its impact on the worship of Israel, this book is absolutely essential. I rejoice in making this volume available here at Southwestern Seminary and encourage you to add it to your personal library.
Paige Patterson, President, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, TX

Rose Guide to the Temple
Dr. Price's Rose Guide to the Temple is an extremely informative piece on the archaeology, history, and significance of the temple mount in Jerusalem. This work clears up much of the confusion as to the actual temple (though not its meaning, the debate will continue) encountered in the Biblical texts. Dr. Price does well by sticking to the facts of the historical temple. He also explains historically why the temple mount is so disputed in modern times. Dr. Price uses extra-biblical texts, visual aids and time lines to help the reader understand the physical dimensions of the temple, its history, and its significance. The text is more than informative as to the different theories on the placement and size of the temple. The illustrations of the temple and its precincts have given me a new insight into the structure and the relevance of its size and placement in today's disputes. The time lines were some of the most helpful tables explaining the importance of certain dates.

Rose Guide to the Temple
As a seminary student, I have the privilege of taking the course, "The Temple in Bible Prophecy," with Dr. Randall Price this year. I read through "Rose Guide to the Temple," and in addition to a reference tool (even the creative display with overlays displaying cut-outs of the Tabernacle and the Temple contributes both academic and visual interest and depth to the book), this slim volume is thorough--replete with charts with biblical references, blueprints, maps, timelines, and archaeological discoveries that I find insightful and informative for all students. Dr. Price's book is thorough: its four sections are organized according to the Temple and temple phases in chronological order--beginning with Eden (the first sanctuary) through the Temple Mount today and Future Temple. Each section, then, provides, along with a myriad of helps for students (perhaps visual learners like myself), in a logical layout, a better understanding of the centuries of conflict built up around the Temple.

Rose Guide to the Temple
The Rose Guide to the Temple is an incredible book. Its perfect for visual learners because of its detailed pictures and diagrams on every page. I enjoyed how it brings the temple to life with the pictures, being able to see what the items it talks about look like adds so much to the experience. The book is easy to understand and is reliable. Dr. Price's biblical references prove to the reader that this book is based on true accounts in the Bible and isn't just made up. This book is full of incredible pictures, paragraphs of incredible information and diagrams such as timelines, maps, and cutaway pictures. The layout of the book is very neat and appealing to the eyes. The print is easy to read and the colors are vibrant. It is truly and incredible book.

Great Read
I am a student at Liberty University, and I had the privilege of having Dr. Price as my Old Testament professor. He is a genius and explains the history and the temple in such a way that many different age groups can understand. This book was not a light read in the slightest, but it was very informative! Overall, it was a very good book. I definitely learned a lot. I really enjoyed how it went through history and it explained how the temple changed. My favorite part was the aesthetic portion; the book is very well put together with illustrations and pictures to help readers better visualize the things in the temple as well as the temple itself. Excellent book!

Rose Guide to the Temple
"Rose Guide to the Temple" by Doctor Price is a fantastic book and learning strategy for the temples in Israel. This book consists of colorful, descriptive pictures and explanations of very important temples of the time period in the Bible. Dr. Price took so much time to put in the small details that a person wouldn't necessarily notice and made them into important; essential characteristics for the reader to grasp and understand. I recommend this book to students, professors, anyone who is interested in learning about the temples during the bible age. You won't regret it!

This volume [Rose Guide to the Temple] offers a comprehensive overview of the Temple for undergrads. It is an ideal textbook which weaves together the archaeological and historical evidence relating to the Temple with its theological significance. All the time periods are covered, with a section on God's Sanctuary before the Temple, in the Garden of Eden and the Tabernacle. Includes extensive time lines, charts, diagrams, as well as plans and cross-sections. Includes discussions of Temple architecture with diagrams of significant structures such as the 'Ain Dara temple and the Dome of the Rock. In this book, Randall has masterfully brought together an immense amount of material on this complex topic and made it accessible for all levels. Fully annotated with about 100 endnotes.

Dr. Randall Price’s new book, Rose Guide to the Temple, is a premier source for the college student, serious Bible scholar or casual layperson desiring to learn more about the Beit HaMikdash, the Holy Temple.  From eternity past to eternity future, Dr. Price has left no stone unturned in his compelling research and presentation.  Coupled with his scholarly insights and the amazing ‘eye candy’ visuals of maps, charts, and illustrations that Rose Publishing is well known for, the reader will cherish this treasure trove for years to come.

Surrounded by many books as I am in my office, I tend keep the really good ones close—within arms’ reach. Written by one of the best Christian, Jewish studies scholars in the world today, Dr. J. Randall Price’s Rose Guide to the Temple is one of those keep-close books. Exhaustive as it is, it is a one-stop-shop for those wanting to hear, see and chart the story of the most contested spot on planet earth. It’s not only well written—something we have all grown to expect from Dr. Price: it’s well presented, with quality illustrations, diagrams, photos, classic art and more. Believing it to be well worth the money, I am happy to commend it to you, knowing you’ll be pleased to commend it to others.
Review by: Dr. David R. Reagan, Lamb & Lion Ministries - October 19, 2011
I have had the privilege of ministering with Dr. Randall Price at conferences all across America. I have always found him to be a down-to-earth communicator whose comments are biblically based and are devoid of speculation and sensationalism. He is a world-class expert on the Jewish Temple, and his collaboration with the Rose Publishing Company has produced a book about the Temple that is stunning in its layout and illustrations and straight-to-the-point in its explanations. This will undoubtedly be the classic study of the Temple for years to come.
Review by: Rabbi John Fischer, Ph.D., Th.D., Academic Vice President, St. Petersburg Seminary and Yeshiva - November 17, 2011
Randall Price is a respected Christian scholar who writes effectively on matters related to Jewish studies. This volume [Rose Guide to the Temple] is no exception. He provides us with significant detail and extensive documentation on this very important topic. Given the repeated appearance of the Temple Mount in Middle East news coverage, this is a timely and relevant book. It will help clarify some of the fundamental issues involved and sweep away many of the myths and distortions circulating in the discussion about this significant site. Dr. Price also provides an extremely useful text about the history, structure and meaning of the Temple, while showing how archaeology related to the Temple confirms the biblical accounts.
Review by: James K. Hoffmeier, PhD, Professor of Old Testament & Near Eastern Archaeology, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School - March 5, 2012
This book [Rose Guide to the Temple] is carefully researched, using biblical, archaeological and Jewish sources, to produce state-of-the-art reconstructions of the Tabernacle, Solomon and Herod’s temples. Beautifully and dramatically illustrated, a great resource for people who are serious about their study of the Bible.
