on 5/25/2017 Extremely helpful resource
This guide is perfect for someone who needs information about memory loss quickly.I appreciated the detailed examples of possible signs of Alzheimer’s & the encouraging Scriptures for both patients & caregivers. It’s frightening and frustrating when a loved one begins forgetting things. Personally, I thought that my spouse was just being lazy because he suddenly couldn’t remember how to use a computer (something he’s done for years) and wanted me to type everything for him. He constantly asks, “who is that?” for people he’s known for years. Our children get tired of answering the same questions over & over. Reading through this guide helped me gain a better understanding of some of what he’s experiencing & gave insight into what changes we may be facing in the future. Included are ideas to create joyful memories with someone suffering memory loss. I recommend this helpful guide for those suffering from memory loss & their caregivers. I was given a pdf copy and all opinions are my own.
on 3/31/2017 Good information
Since my parents have died, I have developed a widows’ ministry of sorts. With my online grocery pick-up, it is not trouble to shop for the ladies at the local assisted living facility. It can be stressful to work with loved ones who forget. One dear friend of mine cannot remember my visits, so I bought a large calendar and ask visitors to sign in when they come. This pamphlet is very useful in knowing how to react to memory loss and dementia patients. Information on the stages of Alzheimer’s disease can be helpful in detecting symptoms early on. The statistics on the disease and the average life span were new facts to me. There were some very good suggestions on how to create precious memories. The “What Not to Do” list has educated me on the things I was doing that were not helpful. I loved the bible verses of hope and promise. This is a nicely done reference guide with stories of actual people and their care givers.Rose publishing offered this pdf free for a fair and honest review.
